I’m Lydia, I live in Cheshire with my husband, two children and Maggie the Cocker Spaniel. I think of this blog as my own little library of the things that make my heart sing; inspiring interiors, delicious food, fantastic gardens and amazing travel experiences.

My love of gardens and interior design started at a young age when at around the age of seven or eight, I started to rearrange the furniture in my bedroom, which became a regular weekend task for me.
This then developed a step further when a few years later, I sanded down my pine bed, bedside table and wardrobe and painted them white. This gave me the confidence to be brave and give things a go; a mantra which has stuck with me since then. I’ll always try and do things myself rather than pay someone to do it, maybe because I’m tight, but I genuinely enjoy a challenge. My husband and I designed and built our current home ten years ago and over the past eighteen months, we have designed and built an oak frame garage and annexe complex for my parents to come and live with us….I did say I liked a challenge!
A friend once called me her ‘go-to girl’…the person she always gravitates to for answers to random questions such as “how do I rescue a seized chocolate mousse?”, “Give me some inspiration for my garden!” or “what type of paint should I use on my daughter’s craft table?”. My aim for this blog is to document all my advice in one place so that it may help others when you’re searching for the answer to that random question, need some interior design inspiration or a new recipe to try. My one caveat is that it is my unprofessional advice and follow it at your own risk!

Alongside posting about random interiors, gardens, travel and food, I offer interior design and styling advice. If you’d like to work with me on any of the above or would like to collaborate on future posts, please contact me:
